Aluminum Sliding Glass Doors - Series 300 Specifications

The sliding glass doors shown in our plans, known as Series 300 Sliding Doors, are crafted from durable aluminum, following the Aluminum Door Specifications set by Metal-Craft Products Company. These doors exemplify high-quality sliding glass door materials.

Aluminum Sliding Glass Doors - Series 300 Specifications

Aluminum Sliding Glass Doors, specifically the Series 300 Sliding Doors, are built using extruded aluminum of the 6063-T5 alloy, featuring a nominal wall thickness of at least 0.062″. The components are made from corrosion-resistant materials, aligning with typical Aluminum Door Specifications.

Construction

Construction

All joints of the frame and panel sections in our Series 300 Sliding Doors are rigidly assembled to provide strong and watertight connections. The sliding panel, when locked, cannot be removed from the outside, ensuring security. Both sliding and fixed panels are designed to be removable for glazing and maintenance. The sliding vent panels feature heavy-duty ball bearing bottom-rolling mechanisms, typically in a dual tandem configuration, with adjustable sheaves at each end for proper alignment with the frame. These sheaves can be adjusted without the need to remove the sliding panel, adhering to the stringent Aluminum Door Specifications.

Finish

Construction

The factory finishes for the aluminum door specifications of the Series 300 sliding doors and vent members include options such as mill (unfinished), clear anodized, dark bronze anodized (almost black), or white baked enamel, which are typical sliding glass door materials.

Weather Stripping

Our weather stripping, designed to meet aluminum door specifications, features silicon-treated woven polypropylene pile and/or 'virgin' extruded vinyl. This ensures compatibility with series 300 sliding doors as well as various sliding glass door materials. All of our weather stripping is also resistant to fungus, mildew, and moths.

Hardware

The hardware for our Series 300 sliding doors features a contemporary design and is constructed to include a jam-proof, manually operated latch. All of our outside pulls and latches are easily adaptable for cylinder locks, making them a perfect match for the aluminum door specifications and sliding glass door materials we use.

Glazing

Installation (by customer):

Installation (by customer):

The fixed and sliding panels of our Series 300 Sliding Doors are designed for convenient shop or field glazing using vinyl glazing channels. Each glazing channel is supplied with the door for specified glass thicknesses of 3/16″, 1/4″, or 5/8″, aligning with our Aluminum Door Specifications. Please note that we do not ship glazed doors via common carriers; we only provide KD doors.

Installation (by customer):

Series 300 sliding doors are installed in prepared openings following the manufacturer's recommendations, ensuring that all caulking is adequate for a thoroughly weather-tight installation. To comply with aluminum door specifications, door frames must be installed plumb, level, and square, allowing for proper functionality in terms of sliding, locking, and weathering. Additionally, using quality sliding glass door materials is essential for optimal performance.

Guarantee
